Letuka joined Usuthu at the start of the recently-concluded season after he was released by Bloemfontein Celtic at the end of 2015/16 campaign.
Returning to Durban, where he previously played for Golden Arrows in the first half of last term, Letuka endured a tough time as he only played once for Usuthu, while featuring three other times as an unused substitute.
Hlongwa, who previously played for AmaZulu in 2012/13, rejoined the club prior to the 2015/16 season after leaving Polokwane City and this past campaign he only played eight times as he faced some strong competition from former Orlando Pirates right back Mbongeni Gumede.
Striker Nyundu joined the Durbanites towards the end of last year after he was released by Black Leopards and he was only registered in the January transfer window.
He only scored two goals in 12 appearances as competition was fierce, with veteran duo Siyabonga Nomvethe and Mabhudi Khenyeza scoring 23 goals between them as Usuthu finished fifth on the table.
AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela said all three players have been notified of the decisions that the club will not renew their contracts.
“We are finalising with Tumelo Letuka and Luyanda Hlongwa and we not going to be renewing their contracts and there’s going to be couple of players that we going to loan out, depending on how this decision [to purchase Thanda’s status] but those are the ones that we are finalising right now,”
“Roggert Nyundu, we have indicated that we are not going to exercise the option to renew his contract.”
Nyundu’s place up front will be taken by Siyethemba Mnguni, who AmaZulu signed on a pre-contract in January from Mbombela United, while the club have re-signed Togolese centre-back Sedat Ouro Akoriko.
