Egyptian side Smouha SC will look to bring themselves back into CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal contention when they travel to face Sudan’s Al-Hilal Al-Ubayyid on Tuesday night.
The Group C clash at the Al-Ubayyid Stadium is set for kick-off at 22h00 CAT.
Coming into the clash the teams are level on four points apiece (trailing leaders Zesco United by two points), with Al-Hilal placed above Smouha thanks to a superior goal difference.
The teams met earlier this month in Alexandria, with Smouha claiming a first-half lead through a penalty from Ahmed Hassan Mekky, only to concede midway through the second stanza when Mahmoud Ezzat scored an own goal.
The 1-1 draw was a tougher result for the Egyptians to swallow, especially after they had beaten Recreativo do Libolo 2-0 in their first home match in the group.
Nonetheless, they will be targeting a win in Al-Ubayyid (it would be the first in the group) to put themselves back in the top two ahead of Matchday 5 and 6.
The other Group C clash sees Recreativo host Zesco in Calulo on Tuesday afternoon. Should the Angolans claim a win and this match between Smouha and Al-Ubayyid ends in a draw, just one point will cover the four teams in the pool.
