Rivers United will face off with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC in the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup Group A game at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
Kick-off is at 17h00 CAT.
Formerly known as Dolphins FC, Rivers were beaten 2-1 by KCCA in their previous Group A game which was played in Kampala, Uganda three weeks ago.
The defeat left Rivers placed fourth on the Group A standings with three points. They are three points behind the leaders FUS Rabat.
The Nigerian outfit have tasted defeat twice in the group stage. Rivers beat Rabat and they have recorded two defeats against Club Africain and KCCA.
Emeka Atuloma scored Rivers’ winning goal against Rabat and the midfielder will be hoping to inspire his side to victory over KCCA.
Meanwhile, KCCA’s win over Rivers left the Ugandan outfit placed second on the Group A log with six points. They are only behind the leaders Rabat on goal difference.
KCCA have recorded two victories in the group stage. Since losing to Rabat, they have registered victories over Club Africain and Rivers.
Derrick Nsibambi has scored four goals for KCCA in this year’s Confederation Cup and the attacker will be looking to score against Rivers, and help his side win.
Juste Ephrem Zio, a referee from Burkina Faso, will be in charge of the encounter between Rivers and KCCA.
