Liverpool are looking to complete the signing of Egyptian Mohamed Salah from Roma, with the player set for a medical on Thursday according to ESPN.
The Italian side and the Reds have reportedly agreed on a €39-million fee, which is set to make the Pharaohs winger Liverpool’s most expensive signing.
Salah was close to joining Liverpool from FC Basel in early 2014, but he ended up signing for their Premier League rivals Chelsea instead.
He went on to make just 19 appearances for the Blues before going out on loan to Fiorentina and Roma, joining the latter on a permanent deal at the start of last season.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a fantastic Serie A campaign with the Giallorossi in 2016/17, recording 13 assists and 15 goals in 31 league appearances.
Salah is Liverpool’s second signing of the offseason, following the deal they struck with out-of-contract Chelsea youngster Dominic Solanke.
