Ahead of their CAF Champions League, Group D encounter against Zambian side Zanaco FC, Al Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry admits they are desperate to reach the knockout stages of the competition.
El-Badry says his charges will have to use their experience in the club continental tournament to protect their legacy come Saturday.
The Red devils are fresh from a 2-0 loss against Wydad Casablanca and will now want to bounce back to winning ways in Lusaka.
Although he said his players are aware of the importance of the game against Zanaco, he acknowledged it will not be an easy assignment.
“Experience is very important. The name Al Ahly is very big in Africa and we need to do well. All we are thinking about is qualification,” El-Badry said.
“It will be a tough match because now we are not only thinking about ourselves [Al Ahly] and Zanaco but there is also Wydad Casablanca from Morocco. We know what we need to do.”
The coach has also named his squad for the encounter set to be staged at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday.
