Sweden youth international Joel Asoro says he will choose between three countries at senior national team level.

The 19-year-old striker was born in Sweden’s capital city, Stockholm to Nigerian parents and he has played for the European country’s Under-17 and Under-21 sides.

Asoro, who is on the books of English Championship side Sunderland AFC, confirmed that he has been contacted by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

“They (Nigeria) have contacted me” Asoro is quoted as saying on SVT.

“We will see what happens if I do not get into the A national team in Sweden. I’ll probably choose Nigeria.

“England is also a possibility. If I live in England for two more years, I can play for their national team.”

Asoro made his professional debut during Sunderland’s 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough in an English Premier League (EPL) game on 21 August 2016.

The highly-rated attacker became the youngest player to play in the EPL for both Sunderland and Sweden.
