Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso says he has recharged his batteries following a gruelling 2016/17 campaign.
Amakhosi will take part in the 2017 Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup in Orkney, North West as they prepare for the 2017/18 campaign.
The 28-year-old player was part of the Chiefs players, who had medicals on Thursday, before they started pre-season training on Friday.
“I am looking forward to pre-season,” Cardoso told Amakhosi’s official website.
“I was just around Johannesburg. It was to relax a bit. I had a good rest.
“What you put in at training during pre-season is what you get out for the rest of the season.”
Amakhosi had a disappointing 2016/17 season – failing to win any major trophy and they will be hoping win the Maize Cup ahead of the new campaign.
Chiefs are scheduled to face Botswana side Township Rollers in a semi-final clash at the James Motlatsi Stadium on 15 July 2017. Kick-off is at 12h00 CAT.
