Hull City have been linked with a move to sign Chelsea’s Nigerian defender Ola Aina on a season-long loan.
Aina, who was born in London and has represented England at junior international level, pledged his allegiance to Nigeria earlier this year.
Allnigeriasoccer.com reports that Hull have made inquiries about signing the 20-year-old on loan for the 2017/18 campaign.
New Tigers manager Leonid Slutskiy reportedly has an excellent relationship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, which could smooth the way for a transfer.
Aina made only five appearances for the Blues last season, with his path to the first team blocked by the presence of compatriot Victor Moses, who entrenched himself in the right wingback position.
Aina needs regular game time to continue his development at senior level and also to catch the eye of Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr ahead of next year’s World Cup.
