FC Utrecht striker Cyril Dressers says Nigeria head coach Gernot informed him to move to a top flight league if he wanted to play for the Super Eagles.
Dressers, who is a 22-year-old, is eligible to play for Belgium, but he has voiced out his preference for Nigeria.
Last season, he scored 22 goals for NAC Breda helping them gain promotion to Dutch Eredivisie and he has since joined top flight side FC Utrecht.
Dressers disclosed that Rohr made it clear that he would be competing with Kelechi Iheanacho, Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi and Olarewaju Kayode for a place in the Super Eagles.
”Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa are the two undisputed men in my position,” Dressers told Sports/Football Magazine.
“Not forgetting Olarewaju Kayode who plays for Austria Wien. After them there’s a spot.
“I did had contact with the coach some few weeks back and he advise me to take a step higher,” he added.
“Hence my move to Utrecht to prove myself worthy of selection for Nigeria.”
