Bundesliga side SC Freiburg are reportedly set to sign Egyptian international Karim Hafez.
The 21-year-old fullback is set to undergo a medical with Freiburg in midweek and will sign a contract if negotiations are successful.
Hafez spent the 2016/17 season on loan at French side RC Lens from his Belgian club Lierse SK.
The Pharaohs player’s performances for Lens in Ligue 2 attracted interest from the likes of Real Betis, AFC Ajax and Girondins de Bordeaux.
Yet it appears Freiburg have jumped the queue to secure the player, with the transfer fee expected to be somewhere in the region of €3-million.
Hafez was a member of Egypt’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations squad which finished as runners-up to Cameroon at the continental tournament in Gabon.
