Italian giants Internazionale are keen on signing Stade Rennais’ Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that the Fennec Foxes player is one of five Ligue 1-based players being targeted by Inter.
The others are Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe (who is French-born and of DRC descent), Toulouse’s Issa Diop (French-born and of Senegalese descent) and the Olympique Lyon pair of Emmanuel Mammana and Mouctar Diakhaby (French-born and of Guinean descent).
The 22-year-old Bensebaini has been targeted by Inter because of his versatility (he can play in central defence, left back or defensive midfield) and outstanding reading of the play.
However, Rennes coach Christian Gourcuff will be reluctant to sell the Algerian (who he has also managed at international level), as he sees Bensebaini as a key player ahead of the 2017/18 season.
Bensebaini and compatriots Rais M’Bolhi and Mehdi Zeffane are currently in Verbier, Switzerland, in pre-season training for Rennes.
