TOWNSHIP ROLLERS CLOSE TO ANNOUNCING NEW COACH

Botswana side Township Rollers respond to reports linking the club with Serbian tactician Nikola Kavazovic.

The Rollers coaching job is currently vacant and the club is hoping to appoint a new head coach before the 2017/18 season.

The new Rollers coach could be in charge of the club at the 2017 Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup in Orkney, South Africa on Saturday, 15 July.

Several coaches including South African tactician Khabo Zondo and Serbian coach Kostadin Papic have been linked with the coaching job.

Rollers secretary general Khumo Masonya has revealed that they have shortlisted three coaches for the position, but he could not deny or confirm if the club will be interviewing Kavazovic.

“I can confirm that we shortlisted three coaches for the position and we are expecting them in for interviews this coming week,” Masonya told The Patriot on Sunday.

“I do not know why but maybe it is because since the said guy needed a Visa to come here and some concluded that we had hired him.”

Rollers will face South African giants Kaizer Chies in the Maize Cup semi-finals, and the winner will face Free State Stars or Platinum Stars in the final.

All matches will take place at the James Motlatsi Stadium in Orkney, South Africa on Saturday, 15 July 2017.
