Day 11 of the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations set up a titanic clash for the final of the tournament where two African powerhouses will go head-to-head when Ghana meet Nigeria at Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 24.

Day 11, Thursday, September 21, was semifinal day and saw both the Super Eagles and the Black Stars sail easily into the final match of the tournament.

The first match of the day at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium saw a dominant Nigerian side overcome a ten-man Benin 1-0 thanks to a goal from Rabiu Ali in the tenth minute of the match.

The Super Eagles produced an impenetrable display in defence. If any criticism was to be levelled at the Nigerians it would be their inability to take goal scoring chances after controlling the majority of the match.

The second game of the day saw Ghana in fine form with a rather comfortable 2-0 win over Niger thanks to goals in each half from Kwame Kizito and Stephen Safro.

The final will take place on Sunday with Ghana trying to avenge their 2-0 loss to Nigeria in the group stage of the competition while the third/fourth place play-off game will see Benin up against Niger.
