Latest news coming from Nigeria is that the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has been handed a new two-year deal.
The Nigerian Football Federation has showed faith in the Franco-German mentor after leading the West Africans to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
According to OwnGoalNigeria, Rohr has confirmed that he has secured a two-year contract extension.
It is reported that Rohr’s contract carried a clause that triggers a two year extension if he qualifies Nigeria for the World Cup, a feat he achieved following their 1-0 win over Zambia in Uyo early this month.
Rohr said he has been told by NFF boss Amaju Pinnick that his contract has been extended and will be officially signed before the Eagles campaign in Russia net year.
“The (NFF) president has already told me that my contract will be extended for another two years,” the coach told French newspaper L’Equipe.
However, he downplayed the tag given to him as saviour of Nigerian football, insisting that the quality of the players at his disposal helped him to qualify for the World Cup in Russia.
