The National Centre for Women Development (NCWD) is set to host the “Clash of Legends”, a football match which will attract Nigerian football legends like Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo in honour of the wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari.
The competition organized by NCWD in conjunction with the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF scheduled for 10th March at the National Stadium, Abuja is in effort to support the charity work of Mrs Buhari’s foundation Future Assured Programme.
The Director General, NCWD Mrs Mary Ekpere-Eta at a press briefing on the programme, yesterday, said NCWD and UNICEF having recognised the laudable project of the first lady is hosting the two-day programme in her support for the work she is doing especially for the Nigerian child.
The UNICEF chief education officer, Terry Dumnian said they are supporting the programme because education is diverse adding that they are using sport as a uniting force to bring the children together and impact on their lives.
