Gentlemen of the press,

The ever passionate Nigeria Football Fan has the opportunity to watch all FIFA World cup competitions for free and directly to home this year. This Luxury viewership which takes the stress off Subscriptions fees, follows the exclusive partnership agreement between the world Football body FIFA and the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON).

The agreement which includes all FIFA events for this year Starting with the ongoing Under-20 World cup in Poland, the Women’s World cup in France, the Under-17 World cup in Brazil, the Beach Soccer World cup in Paraguay, sees BON in a uniquely vantage position to deliver every Nigeria National team match to all free to air audiences in Nigeria.

Interestingly, Nigeria is participating in all the four FIFA World cup Competitions although the flying Eagles bowed out on Monday to another African side, Senegal after crossing the Group phase to the last sixteen.

According to the senior sales Manager of FIFA TV Services, Ian Wilson Young, “we welcome the opportunity to work with BON as FIFA’s exclusive free to air license in Nigeria as well as create a direct relationship between FIFA and BON for the first time which I believe will be very beneficial to the future”.

Already BON comprising over 145 member Radio and Televisions stations has put in place a task force that will manage the Broadcast rights to ensure coverage of all the four World cup competitions this year touches every nook and cranny of the country.

I, Sir Godfrey Ohuabunwa as Acting Chairman, am extremely pleased with this partnership and media rights acquisition from FIFA and has invited all stakeholders as well as private sectors to make this venture a rewarding and value laden experience for the growth of both the broadcast and sports industry.
